Nystagmus is an incurable eye condition where the eyes move involuntarily in a small, repeated to and fro motion. The eyes appear to wiggle, jitter, or “wobble”, usually side to side. This typically impairs vision and creates difficulties in everyday life. The International Nystagmus Awareness Day, “Wobbly Wednesday”, is held every year on the first Wednesday in November. It was first developed by the UK Nystagmus Network , and has spread worldwide. In the US, it kicks off a month of awareness and fundraising events. The goal is to raise public awareness of nystagmus and to fundraise for ANN to allow us to provide support to all those affected by nystagmus.
