The American Nystagmus Network held its 3rd Biennial Conference from July 11 through July 13, 2003 at the Holiday Inn Select International Airport in Bloomington, Minnesota. There were over 75 attendees and presenters from all over the US.

- 8:30 – 9:30: Keynote – “Understanding Nystagmus: Diagnosis, Related Disorders, Treatment, and Research.” – Dr. Mitra Maybodi, MD Attending in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Children’s National Medical Center; Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics, George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences, Washington, DC.
- 9:45 – 10:45: Breakout Sessions
- ” IDEA/IEPs & Parent Issues” – Ms. Joy Relton, National Association of Parents of Children with Visual Impairments (NAPVI);A discussion of IDEA (Individual with Disabilities Education Act) and IEP (Individualized Education Program) as related to vision issues; and a discussion of parent issues.
- “Unlocking Opportunities for Careers and Transitioning” – Dr. Krista Davis, OD, Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, Low Vision Services
- 11:00 – 12:00: “Let’s Talk Low Vision” Dr. Suleiman Alibhai, OD, Low Vision Specialist, Retina Group of Washington- Dr. Krista Davis, OD, Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, Low Vision Services A professional presentation/discussion by low vision specialists on a variety of topics related to low vision

- Bioptic Driver Education Training and Assessment Practices Mr. Chuck Huss, COMS, Bioptic Driving Network An orientation/mobility low vision driver training specialist from the BiOptic Driving Network will present/discuss formalized low vision driver education training and practices for low vision persons who use BiOptic lens systems.
- Children’s Support Group (for children) Ms. Jayne Gordon, MSW, LICSW A member of ANN and a parent of a child with Nystagmus will lead a workshop for children with nystagmus.
- 2:45 – 3:45: “Assistive Technology Options” Mr. Marshall Tanick: an Attorney specializing in ADA “Top Ten Things You Need to Know About ADA”
- 4:30 – 5:30: Open Forum Q&A – for participants and presenters
